SLA (Stereolithography) technology (also known as light curing rapid prototyping technology) is based on the principle of photopolymerization of liquid photosensitive resin. This liquid material can rapidly undergo photopolymerization under the irradiation of ultraviolet light of a certain wavelength and intensity (such as λ=325nm), the molecular weight increases sharply, and the material changes from liquid to solid. Its core technology is computer technology and material technology. The laser forming technology abandons the traditional machining method. According to the geometric information of the parts generated by CAD, the three-dimensional numerical control forming system is controlled, and the parts are formed by stacking the materials through the laser beam. Forming in this way eliminates the need for time-consuming and expensive mold or special tool design and machining, which greatly improves production efficiency and manufacturing flexibility.

The principle of SLA laser forming:
First, the liquid tank is filled with liquid photocurable resin, and the laser beam can scan on the liquid surface under the action of the deflecting mirror. The scanning trajectory and the presence or absence of light are controlled by the computer. cured. At the beginning of molding, the working platform is at a certain depth below the liquid surface, and the focused light spot is scanned point by point on the liquid surface according to the computer's instructions, that is, point-by-point curing. When one layer is scanned, the unirradiated areas are still liquid resin. Then the lifting platform drives the platform to lower one layer of height, and the formed layer is covered with a layer of resin. The leveler smoothes the liquid surface of the resin with higher viscosity, and then scans the next two layers, and the newly cured layer Firmly stick to the previous layer, and repeat until the whole part is manufactured, and a three-dimensional solid model is obtained. The part formed by the SLA process has high precision.

Features of SLA Rapid Prototyping:

1. High machining accuracy, can reach 0.1mm;

2. It can manufacture parts with complex shapes (such as hollow parts) and especially fine parts (such as jewelry, handicrafts, etc.), suitable for fine parts and toys such as mobile phones, radios, walkie-talkies, mice, as well as high-tech electronic industrial casings, home appliance casings or Models, motorcycles, auto parts or models, medical equipment, etc.;

3. The speed of manufacturing parts is fast, and 0.1-0.15mm layered scanning can be performed;

4. Good surface quality, can make very fine details thin wall structure, easy post-processing;

5. The processing is in place, and many details that cannot be processed by CNC figures can be processed, thereby reducing the workload of post-processing;

6. Disadvantages: The photosensitive resin material selected by laser forming is relatively simple, and the toughness and strength of the SLA prototype are not as good as that of the CNC prototype, and the buckle position is easy to break.

Features of SLA rapid prototyping material (photosensitive resin):

Similar to the traditional engineering plastic ABS, it is a transparent or beige liquid with a certain viscosity. The workpiece made is translucent or beige, with good strength. It can be assembled, tapped, painted, and silk screened. The disadvantage is that it is not resistant to high temperature.
